Question 1006022:

On a Goal Kick the goalie kicks the ball down the field to a player who was in an off-side position when the ball was kicked. The assistant referee raises the flag to signal the player off-side. The referee blows the whistle for an off-side infraction. This is the correct call.

Answer: False. In the Fifa Law Book, Law 11 - Offside states that three exceptions to the offside law may allow a player to be in an offside position without being penalized for offside. They are at a throw-in, a corner kick, and... you guessed it, a goal kick. For further insight on Law 11 go to page 24 or your FIFA Law Book.
